Luxaby Baby & Child Launches a Philanthropic Campaign to Benefit Operation Smile
Molly Hillenbrand Vernon, owner of Luxaby Baby & Child, is launching a new campaign with Operation Smile, an international children’s medical charity. On December 1 at 6:30 p.m., Luxaby Baby & Child in Princeton, New Jersey is hosting a holiday event at 67 Palmer Square in Princeton, NJ to celebrate the launch. Annually, 10 percent of the gross sales up to $20,000 from Luxaby Baby will be donated to Operation Smile, giving new smiles to children worldwide suffering from clefts.
Molly’s passion is to promote children’s self-esteem and their acceptance of themselves, regardless of any challenge. Her heart went out to those children who can’t eat or speak properly, and have never had the ability to smile, because they were born with a cleft lip or cleft palate. For as little as $240, the cost of a cleft lip surgery, a child’s life can be changed forever. Molly is committed to help make a difference for these children.

Luxaby Baby LLC is a company dedicated to bringing together the best designers in classic quality children’s clothes. Following the success of www.luxabybaby.com, Luxaby Baby opened its first storefront in September 2009 for ages newborn through 12 years. The name Luxaby came from a bedtime story that Molly would share with her oldest daughter each night about a fairy who came from the town of Luxaby. The fairy would embark on a new adventure each night and would challenge herself to try something she had never done before. Molly embarked upon such a journey this past June, when she volunteered on an Operation Smile medical mission in Santo Domingo.
“To see the smiles immediately after surgery is something you can just not put into words,” Molly said. “I was so profoundly impacted by the hearts of these medical volunteers and the life-changing surgery they were performing. To help in any way is the least I can do. My dream is that by joining with Operation Smile, we can provide surgeries for thousands of children all over the world. I hope that by building awareness in my community, others will see how easy and profound it is to make a child smile and change their life forever.”
The need for quality cleft care is urgent. Every three minutes, it is estimated a child somewhere in the world is born with a cleft. One in 10 of those children will die before their first birthday. With the help of international medical volunteers and generous supporters like Molly, Operation Smile has provided free reconstructive surgeries for more than 150,000 children worldwide since its founding in 1982.
